Laureate Raùl Montenegro hold inaugural lecture at conference “Water Wars and Peaces” in Bordeaux, France


The Universities of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Montaigne as well as l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture et de Paysage (ENSAP) organized an international conference in cooperation on “Water Wars & Peaces. Socioecology of Water, Economy of Sharing and Territorial Intelligence”, from November 4th to 5th, 2021 in Bordeaux, France.

Right Livelihood Award Laureate and RLC Córdoba Coordinator Raùl Montenegro gave the opening lecture of this conference on November 4th at 10:40 CET. In his presentation “The two pandemics: environmental and viral”, he linked the virus pandemic with the environmental crisis and discuss strategies to prepare for upcoming pandemics.

Next to his work as Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina, Montenegro advocates for environmental protection and indigenous rights as director of the Environment Defense Foundation (FUNAM), which he founded in 1982.
