RLC Bonn: PhD candidate Irene Ojuok presented work on land restoration in Kenya


RLC Bonn researcher Irene Ojuok has been participating in the online Kenya National Landscape Restoration Conference, which was organized by the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), World Vision Kenya, and the Government of Kenya, from July 9-16, 2021.

On July 14th, she gave a talk on “The role of faith communities in the management and restoration of land in Kenya” in which she explored the opportunities for collaboration among faith-based organizations to promote landscape restoration at grassroot level.

Irene Ojuok, who works in an RLC Bonn research project on Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) in Kenya with Right Livelihood Award Laureate Tony Rinaudo and World Vision Kenya, has also written a chapter on women participation in FMNR for climate resilience that was published in the African Handbook of Climate Change Adaptation in August 2020.
