On March 3, the new coordinator of the RLC Campus Valdivía Felix Fuders paid a visit to the RLC Campus Bonn at the Center for Development Research. During a casual lunch, future initiatives and collaborations were discussed.
Felix Fuders is an economist and took over as coordinator of the RLC Campus Valdivia in January 2020. In his research, he addresses regional development, monetary policies as well as ecological economics, advocating a concept of an economy of benevolence, in which the market balance in the model of complete competition is no longer distorted by a monetary and land arrangement that contradicts human nature. Regarding his role as new RLC coordinator, he views “putting in symbiosis classical economic theory, especially micro and macroeconomics, with the teachings of Manfred Max Neef to achieve what he used to call ‘development on a human scale’, where the satisfaction of fundamental needs is the cornerstone for economic activity” as his main challenge.
With a series of activities focused on promoting social transformations through education and research, this year the RLC will continue to work hand in hand with students from the Master’s Degree in Human Scale Development and Ecological Economics.
