From 4-6 October, 2018, the first RLC Alumni workshop will take place in Mumbai. Organised jointly by the RLC Campus at TISS and the RLC Global Secretariat, this event will bring together (development) academics and practitioners from more than 10 countries in South East Asia and beyond, to
– establish contacts between RLC Alumni and their represented organisations,
– connect RLC Alumni with researchers from institutions of science and development cooperation, to enhance competences for tackling development-related issues,
– enable science-practice networking and transmission of knowledge between RLC Alumni and Laureates of the Right Livelihood Award, as well as civil society organisations in Mumbai,
– strengthen the network of multipliers and decision-makers in the area of livelihoods innovation and development alternatives.
The workshop topic “Development Alternatives and Livelihoods Innovation” will be discussed from an interdisciplinary perspective, combining case studies from academia with best practice examples from civil society, agency, and state. Right Livelihood Award Laureate Shrikrishna Upadhyay will present and discuss a regional action plan for sustainable livelihood in countries of South Asia.
